Hunan-style chicken with red and green chili |
Le Yuan Chinese Restaurant is located on the fourth floor of Super House International, a newly established four-star hotel. The restaurant's diverse team of chefs serves up delicate and tasty Cantonese and Wenzhou food, as well as Hunan specialties with a bit of spice. As is typical of South Chinese style restaurants, seafood is a major specialty. Besides more common fish and shrimp, there are sea bass, Australian scallop, soft-shelled turtle, as well as the more expensive shark fin, abalone, and fish maw.
But there are plenty of medium-priced tasty choices, too, such as beef, chicken, vegetables and mushroom.
For those who prefer a bit of spice in their foods, Hunan, or (Xiang) style cuisine is the right choice. The dishes are also very tasty and go well with rice. Preserved chili, which is more fragrant but less spicy, is extensively used in the cuisine. Preserved pork and dry pot (casserole) dishes are two other typical Hunan specialties.
Last but not least, try the cold dishes, steamed rice in casserole, and fried rice noodles.
Recommended dishes: braised shark fin with Chinese gravy (Cantonese), gratin of preserved sea bass with Korean sauce (Cantonese), sauteed cuttlefish (Wenzhou style), stewed and fried chicken with red and green chili (Hunan style).
